Catching up!!!

It has been sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long since I blogged.  I feel awful because when I seen the entry of my last blog, it was July!  So much has happened and I can't think of all the things to say.  I've gone to 2 concerts, Katy Perry and Aaron Pritchett.  Been to Las Vegas.....OMG!!!! I so am going to go back!  It was awesome!  I've been busy with work and have now just accepted another term teaching position for 3 months.  Tim is now in Grade 3! Gosh, time sure has flown.  We've started to redecorate our kitchen/dining room.  We got new appliances in the spring and last week I painted the walls.  We've got to put up the valances and then hopefully (fingers crossed) will be able to rip out the carpet and put the new flooring in very soon.  I have to yet repaint my cupboards but I can do that in the winter time in Dwain's workshop.

I've been busy creating cards mainly.  I get into these spurts of either making cards or doing layouts.  Right now it's cards.  I hope to sell them at a craft fair in November.

Over at Paper Therapy, I'm still on the Design Team.  We've revamped some of the challenges a bit.  Nothing major but more just tweaked them.  Another co-DT member set up and hosted an awesome online crop.  Here are pictures of what I made.....

Now wouldn't you like to get all this done within 1 week!  Just come on over to www.papertherapy.yuku.com and sign in.  You will get approval to join and them you can have all the fun of playing along.  Hope to see you there!

Got Sketch?

This is one of my favorite sketch sites.  Simple, sleek and so very easy to do!  For our current DT challenge at Paper Therapy, we were asked to pick a sketch and do it.  Simple?  That was for sure.  I chose this sketch courtesy of Got Sketch:
Now here is the card I made:

So now I hope that you'll hop on over to www.papertherapy.yuku.com and do your own on this challenge.  Make sure to upload and you just might be the next winner!!!  See you all there!

It's all about the RED & WHITE!!!!

We are so nearing Canada Day and a time for celebration.  As I post this latest challenge to the Paper Therapy DT Challenge, I'm preparing for our golf course (Rossman Lake Golf & Country Club) 1st tournament of the year.  I'm going in it with a great friend and we hope to do well!  The weather now is cool and overcast....perfect for golfing!!!

Meanwhile over at Paper Therapy, we on the DT, have posted our latest challenge.  Since I'm the lone Canadian on the DT, I modified it a bit to suite our nation's colors, RED &  WHITE!!!  But should you be from our neighbor country, make sure to include the brilliant BLUE!  Here is the card I made for the challenge.

I do hope that you'll drop on over and join us for some great inspirational challenges and some awesome girls that LOVE crafting and creating!  Here is the link  www.papertherapy.yuku.com  But for now that's all I have, off to get ready for the golf tournament, and also a very Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadians and Happy 4th of July to my American friends!!!

Fabulous Father's......

Father's Day is just around the corner and I'm not sure what to get my wonderful and darling husband Dwain for Father's Day!?!?  I wouldn't say that I'm freaking out but I do want to show him how much I love and appreciate him as a husband and father!  I guess I'm a little bit more sentimental as June marks the anniversary of when my own dad died....19 years!  Wow, time sure has flown by.  I guess that even though I don't have the "perfect" gift, a card and perhaps a gift card or going out for supper would be just fabulous too!  Here is the card that I made for a Paper Therapy DT challenge.....I just might use this card for my dearest and wonderful husband!

So as we come closer to Father's day, hug yours, tell them that you love and appreciate them!  Do something special for them whether big or small or costly or not!  I know that I will with my husband!

As well, I hope you all hop on over to www.papertherapy.yuku.com and join our family for many card challenges, fun, comraderie and ideas!  See you all there!!!

Inspiration can be found.....

literally anywhere.

This week's challenge is to find any ad and use that as inspiration.  I've never done one like this before but I tell you that it's very easy to find inspiration out there.  I simply googled advertising pictures and came up with so many options.  The hard part was picking one out and using it.  I found this ad for my source of inspiration for this Paper Therapy DT Challenge that I had to make for my DT contribution...

So, from this source of inspiration I made this.  I do admit that I don't follow things to the "T" but just as this challenge is for you it's to find the inspiration to do something else.  Here is what I made for a card:

So now, come on over....don't wait or procrastinate....come and join our group. Play with our challenges and win some prizes too!  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Oops, I missed one

Two weeks ago I was supposed to post the latest challenge from the Paper Therapy challenges.  This challenge was a color challenge.  The colors to use were a hot pink, bright yellow, bright blue and a neutral.  Here is what I came up with!!!

Freaky Friday....but a couple days late!?

I was supposed to post this Friday but it was absolutely busy for me.  Over at Paper Therapy another challenge has been posted called "Freaky Friday".  In this challenge you were to scraplift another member's card and use it as a source of inspiration.  Here is what I chose from "cutie Jensen".....

I took inspiration from the little tools and found some in my own stash of brads and came up with this.

Let's now see what you can come up with from a source of inspiration that you found.  Come on over to www.papertherapy.yuku.com and sign up to become a part of the fun and all the challenges.....maybe you will be the next winner of an awesome prize!!!

Just for you.....

It's that time of the year for Mother's Day.  I unfortunately will be missing out on it because I'll be working nights that weekend.  Maybe supper might be in the plans.  Over at Paper Therapy, our next Design Team challenge was to create something for your mom, MIL, grandmother, sister or even a deserving friend.  I made this Tag book and matching card.

With the upcoming Mother's day on very soon, let's see what you come up with.  Get creative, be inspiring and show all your love with a special home made card and maybe even gift.  Head on over to www.papertherapy.yuku.com and join our family and enter in to our challenges to win prizes!  I sure hope to see you over there!

Here comes Peter Cottontail....

Well, maybe not the real Peter Cottontail, but Easter is around the corner really soon!  Over at Paper Therapy, the DT, came up with a really cool challenge.  You needed to make a card that has some relevance to Easter, baskets, bunnies or just whatever.  I chose the concept of a basket being a weaved image and did this.....
So now what you need to do is head on over to http://www.papertherapy.yuku.com/ and sign up to become a member.  Take your imagination to the max and create something to possibly win a prize!?!?  Hope to see you there!

Skittles anyone?

If you're a sweet tooth then Skittles are just the way to go!!!  There was a challenge over at Paper Therapy (where I am a PROUD Design Team member) and I wanted to take part in the challenge.  The challenge was to find something to "dress up".  I'm also a fan of Epicure and had this empty jar and since I love Skittles, I thought it would be neat to dress up the jar and put some Skittles in it that I bought!  It's an indulgence that I go for just once in a while.  Here is the before picture.....

And here is the "dressed up" version shown with some yummy Skittles and a birthday card.  These are great inexpensive ideas to give to friends, family, teacher.....just whoever.  You can personalize what you put in them so that whoever is getting it will have a sample of their yummy candy in it.

Make sure to come over and join Paper Therapy and take part in the fun, learn new ideas and maybe win a prize!  The website is http://www.papertherapy.yuku.com/ .  You have to apply to join but will in no time flat get approved then you are welcomed to come on in and meet some awesome ladies and try your turn at some great challenges!  Hope to see you there!

Second Time is a Charm

Okay, now I can make it official.  I've been hiding this secret for a couple of weeks and now it's official.  Back in the fall time, I took my chances at applying for becoming a Design Team member on a couple of scrapbook sites.  I was unsuccessful at that time but did come along a really great scrapbook site called PaperTherapy.  The website is http://www.papertherapy.yuku.com/ .  I did not make that team the first time but joined in the forum and met a lot of really talented and awesome ladies!  Since I LOVE challenges, this site had weekly challenges.  It has a lot of inspiration for cards and that has also helped me with my card collection (which is very near the 600-700 cards).

Just a couple of weeks ago, I was asked if I'd join their Design Team and was thrilled beyond belief!!!!  Of course, I accepted in a heartbeat!!!

So now it's official.....I'm a member of the PaperTherapy Design Team.  I truly hope that you will join me and come and be apart of this team.  I will be posting their challenges here too as they come up but the best part is just coming on over to this site and becoming a member and playing along.  I know that you will be inspired and enjoy the girls and the challenges and friendship.  Come on over !!!!

Lady Gaga....

....is amazing!  You've just got to watch this video!  I've just cried my eyes out!!!  I do tend to cry easily but this wasn't just a whimper cry....it was big alligator tears!!!  I usually listen to music alot, whether I'm scrapbooking, cleaning house, driving my vehicle or even going for my walks.  But I tell you, this is the ultimate song for everyone...humanity!!!!  Maybe the people who are fighting and creating wars should listen to this song!!!!

I don't have enough words to express this song....just listen to it and see the performance!  We are all beautiful and we are born this way!  Here is the link:

Where has time gone???

I can't believe how the time has gone.  It's been a whole month since I was here posting....bad, bad, Rasia!!!  lol.  Anyway, what is new??? Well, I have been scrapbooking and enjoying some time snowmobiling.  My sister in law and her family were out at the end of January to celebrate her youngest and my husband's birthday.  We all had a great time and I know that my hubby was especially touched when he got tickets to go and see Katy Perry in concert on July 14th!  I then just this week won tickets to see Rhianna on June 18th!  Both in Winnipeg.  I surprise my little sister in asking her to come.....my husband didn't want to go so she was so touched and excited.

I thought that I would post 2 of a few layouts that I've done this month for you.  I'm still working on my Bon Jovi photos (so many to pick!!!???).  As well I've done one that I'm hoping will be the winner on a scrapbook site to be their Guest designer for March!  Hopefully today I'll find out!  Here are my 2 layouts!

It's a New Year.....

Wow, 2011 is finally here!  I hope that 2011 will be even a bigger and better year for myself and for each and every one of you.  I began the year off to a slow start with scrapbooking but finally have found time to do some challenges.  This layout was a challenge from 3scrappyboys.com .  All that it had asked was to take a photo from your stash and scrap it.  I've been working on layouts to make albums for my sister's 3 boys (one more on the way any minute!!!)!  This layout is of her eldest son and my first nephew Braeden when he was born.  The black piece at the top of the layout is a picture of the ultrasound.  My hopes is that I can create albums for them to cherish when they get older.  Here is the first of my eldest nephews album....

Go out and challenge yourself in getting some "older" photos scrapbooked!  Have fun!
